Hi Gang,
The Studio Beta is being extended. We are waiting on a final piece to put in place before we can make the change over. We do not have a definitive date on when this is going to happen. So until then, enjoy.
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve. I'd been wondering why the option to pay hadn't shown up anywhere yet. Is the remaining functionality to be added user functionality? _________________

The piece we're waiting on is not user functionality though we do have a few small things to roll out once it's in place.
Cheers,

The final piece has fallen into place. Once it passes final testing we will be making the change over. This could be later today or tomorrow, depending on how the testing goes.
During the change over we expect there to be a little downtime, though it will likely be under an hour.
Cheers,

And we have gone live. The payment processing system is now in place. The Studio Beta is now over.
Cheers,

Hmmm...
Only Credit Cards?
Any chance of future support for Paypal (or even more preferable, Bank to Bank Transfer)? _________________ All art is quite useless.

Hi Sharkey,
I've put your question to the gang. I'll see if there is anything we can do for you.
Cheers,

Cheers Steve.
It's just that I know that quite a few people on the forums here might not have a credit card and the only method of payment is either by debit card (Laser), Paypal or Bank Transfer (which is probably the most convenient, but not altogether necessary for an Irish customer as Paypal supports Bank transfer into Paypal Accounts - this isn't the case, however, for some other countries). _________________ All art is quite useless.

Hey Sharkey,
Just a FYI, we're in the process of setting up a Paypal account now and hope to have it in place early next week. This will be in addition to our current payment system.
Cheers,

Still can't complain... It's a holiday. _________________ All art is quite useless.

I must say that to start charging a fee for Celtx Studio really sucks. So much that I felt obliged to create this account just in order to tell you so. The only thing I want is to be able to save a backup of my scripts online with a simple mouse click. But there is no way I will pay $50/year to do so.
Other than that, Celtx is a really great program. You know how it is, it's so much worse when the ones you love hurt you than when MS Word does so. |

Hi Josse,
We're going to be rolling out some new payment offerings and feature additions, hopefully in the next few days. Maybe something there will be more to your liking.
Cheers,

Hi
I am also not happy for paying 50$ for the current services and I have decided not to do it, sorry .
I would be happier (and then I would pay ), if Celtx Studio would become a REAL collaborative system, with check-in and check-out of any of the pieces in the project (each scene in the script and any element as Charqacter and so one), allowing a real team work. Ah, and also a more allborated publishing system, that would allow to show just some contents to one user, another pieces to another one....
That's just my opinion.

Hi Isi,
Thanks for the feedback, and we welcome your opinions. Remember that the Studio in its current form is not the final product. Like the software, it will be getting regular updates to its functionality. Hopefully sometime in the near future the feature set and price point will be something we can get you interested in.
Cheers,
Steve |

Hi spick,
Is there any chance Celtx will offer a no-frills, free account for the Studio so writers can have a place to store a project online? _________________ AnmariFilms |
