I've notice some strange... translations, in the Spanish version of celtx. I don't know if it's that in some countries they say things in some particular way, but as someone who's native tongue is Spanish, they seem to me as if translated by googe.

Which is the process to get them fixed? Where should I point them out?

Please point them out here as they appear in Celtx, then post your suggestions.

This is in reference to the screenplay portion of celtx.

The first thing that strikes me as odd is under the Title Page "Página de título", which I believe it should be translates as "Portada", but that one is not really an issue, as the translation, though literal, gets the message across.

Under the Title Page, the translation for "By" right now is "Títulos Por:". "Titulos Por: " means "Titles by:", which implies the person who made the opening credits. A better translation would be "Escrito Por:", or simply "Por:"

My other big complain is that under Typeset, under Mores and Continueds:

"(MORE)" is translated as "(Más)" instead of "(MÁS)"

"(cont'd)" is translated as "(a continuación)", when it should be left as "(cont'd)", or translated as "(continúa)".

"A continuación" roughly translates as "coming up next", implying that there text that follows the "(CONTINUED)" happens after the text before it (which is extremely obvious). "Continúa" means that the text before the mark continues after the mark (which is the intention of the Continued marks).

The same goes for " (CONTINUED)" and "CONTINUED:" which are translated as "(A CONTINUACIÓN)" & "A CONTINUACIÓN:", when they should be translated as "(CONTINÚA)" & "CONTINÚA:".

Additionally, most of the Spanish speaking countries in America use Letter paper instead of A4. I understand the default being A4, since it's the paper used in Spain, but it would be nice not having to select paper as the paper to use every time a new project starts.

I reviewed your suggestions and youre right, they seem more polished and appropiate than the current translations being used. I dont know if the changes can actually be implemented in this version since it has been released, but maybe we can fix that problem for future releases.

As for the paper, youre right, over here in the Americas we use Letter sized paper normally, not A4.

However, some things to keep in mind:

You can change the way the TypeSet displays the Continueds and More by changing it yourself in TypeSet->Formatting Options->Mores and Continueds.

Version 2.5 allows you to pick between A4 and US Letter sizes. US Letter is pretty much the size used in Latin American countries. There isnt a standard size per se as A4 has.

Thanks for pointing all this out, Ill see what I can do about the translation.

Hey jperez, got some news for you.

The good ones are that I fixed the terms you pointed out. Your suggestions sound better for the target language, so I worked on that.

The not so hot news are that the changes wont take effect until there is a new version released or a major fix to this version.

I also did some minor changes here and there.

Thanks again for pointing this out. When Celtx 3.0 is released, you should see the proper translation being used.

If you find any other terms that should be checked and/or corrected, please post them and Ill work on it.

Cheers.
