The Celtx Forum Script Competition #19

Postby Sharkey » Wed Oct 22, 2008 10:12 pm

The Nineteenth Competition has now started!

To view the current leaderboard, please click to: http://forums.celtx.com/viewtopic.php?p=20146#20146

Here's this week's criteria, as suggested by me (yes, I'm indulging myself, plus it's slightly halloweeny):

Write a short script, of any genre, under 15 pages, about a person who has just arrived in Hell.

- post a link to your script on this thread
- only one entry per participant
- entries must include the tag cfsc19 when published to Project Central
- Anyone can enter
- You don't need to have entered to vote

Voting will commence on Friday, the 7th (seventh) of November, where anybody can vote for who they think should win this competition, and get a valuable point on the Leaderboard.

The entries thus far:

japostol - The Hell I Am!
GreenEteaProductions - 8 Circles of Hell: The Trials of Seth and Saddam
CriticalTodd - Somebody Up There Hates Me
vedus hate - Mainline
Thinair- Hell-arious
meotsuburu - Death of a High School Writer
Angela - No Redemption For Me
SamiDelovely - Cool as Hell
Angra Mainyu - thehellone

Good Luck, and have fun!

What do you want the criteria to be for the next competition?
Have your say here.

Idk why can't you just write and finish the guiness hmm.... lol I'm definitely entering this too.

One question:
Are we talking about hell hell? Like fire and brimstone hell because I would I say being at an Anne Murray concert would qualify as hell lol

My mug is all watery with condensation so every time I drink from it, my fingers get all wet. Don't want to mess up my keyboard. Plus its a beautiful day today. We've had rain for the past week and this is the first clear day in awhile. I'm just kicking back on the balcony and soaking it all in. With my laptop and beverage.

Ah... a Hell on Earth... a Hell of our own making... good question.

Hmm.... That makes a lot of sense lol

And yeah I was wondering about the hell thing? or is that the point of this choice so we can create our own hell?

Any hell! Doesn't have to be fire and brimstone to be hell.

I wouldn't want to exclude the atheists now, would I? :P

I had the same problem. Initially I thought fifteen pages would be a little long but far from it. I wrote about 17 pages in two days (two sessions lasting about 2-3 hours each, actually). I didn't realize I went over. It was just a matter of minor editing and rewriting to trim down to 15 pages.

Btw, good luck, Green, in this comp and every future project.

ROFL! I almost did the same thing but caught it at the last moment. Why does it seem more natural to type 'csfc' than 'cfsc'?

I have no idea Ja lol haha

We still have what feels like forever until voting starts lol

I wanted to make the title 8 Circles Of Hell: The Trials of Seth and Saddam but it was too long lol So it was just 8 Circles of Hell lol it sounds funnier with the trials of seth and saddam lol without it the movie sounds like a horror flick lol.

Mainline - drama/horror - 12 pages

A xenophobe with claustrophobic complications attempts to take the subway to an appointment by leaving early enough to avoid all other people. Unfortunately he falls asleep on the train.

My thanks to Sharkey for answering my questions about Irish folksongs. Acting as a resource for me saved many hours of research and uncertainty for what is arguably an arbitrary portion of the script. I found the tone and words I was looking for however. To that end, I thank you, sir.
